Why Primary Music began

For many, teaching is not just another job, it is a vocation and a profession that has become more and more demanding. All teachers, especially primary school teachers, are expected to be multi-disciplined, covering both academic studies and vocational subjects in culturally and socially diverse environments.

The value of teaching music to young children has long been proven to help concentration and encourage social interaction which is invaluable as children grow and develop. We recognise that not every school has the depth of support or resource to dedicate to a primary music curriculum and that is where PrimaryMusic.org.uk can really start to help.

By providing low cost and frequent access to original music, written specifically for the primary school marketplace, we have removed some of the burden on teachers in this particular and important part of primary school life.
